Meeting in Bolu

The first meeting of project partnership took place in Bolu, Turkey on 13th and 14th of January 2010.

All partners came together at the starting time of the Kick-off Meeting hosted by Abant Izzet Baysal University (AIBU)/Bolu, Turkey coordinator of the NMCE project. Professor Feray GÖKDOĞAN, coordinator of AIBU, welcomed the partners to Turkey and Bolu, expressed her gratitude of hosting the Kİck-off Meeting in Turkey.

After the meeting and warm up phase, firstly, Professor Feray GÖKDOĞAN made a presentation about the aim of the NMCE Project.  Professor Gokdogan said that “the aim of NMCE Project is to present the differences within Europe  in terms of elderly care  the aids for the informal care givers and nurse training and  It is of great importance for the concerned individuals.”.
She introduced the partners involved in the Project and attended the Kick-off Meeting by their names to the group.

Afterwards, the Coordinator shortly spoke of AIBU and the Nursing Department as it is also aimed in EU projects to give importance to the cultural aspects. The education in the Nursing Department and the projects intended for public were explained. Bolu Governorship Elderly Center’s aim , which is a basis for the NMCE Project, and the efforts made by nurses concerning the elderly were mentioned.

Later in the meeting, the representative of our partner Berufsförderungswerk (BWF) Nuremberg (Centre for Vocational Qualification, Rehabilitation and Integration from Germany, Ulrike Dehner , made a presentation about Nuremberg and the Rehabilitation Center. He ended his speech by stating that they have been taking place in EU projects since 2005, and they have been providing business services along with rehabilitation services.

The representative of our partner Wyższa Szkoła Informatyki -WSINF (Academy Of It)/ Lodz, Poland, Elżbieta Strzelecka, PhD., and   Kazimierz Ziółkowski,PhD  (The Dean of Faculty of Pedagogy and Health Promotion), presented about their academic studies concerning the elderly and also about the EU projects. They ended their speech after informing the group about WSINF in general, and about the other activities like e-learning, EU projects, Third Age University, tourism sector, health and care sector, etc.

The representative of our other partner from Poland, Danmar Computer /Rzeszów, Adam Piekara  spoke of training, design, IT services, partners, IT certification and EU projects as  an IT training and consulting company.  

Lastly, the representative of our partner from Italy, I.Ri.Fo.R. (Istituto per la Ricerca, la Formazione e la Riabilitazione (Institute for Research, training and rehabilitation),  Antonio Quatraro, PhD,  shortly mentioned about IRIFOR’s main objectives, their studies in Florence Region, training and services concerning visually impaired person and multihandicapped person, and EU projects.

Due to the delays during the Agreement in the beginning, NMCE Project started on the 1st of November, 2009. The partners were informed by Professor Feray GÖKDOĞAN  that a new work plan had been formed as the Project time is 24 months.  

According to the Work Plan, five meetings, which are going to be hosted by each partner, were planned. The issues about the dates of these meetings were discussed with the partners.
